Soula Emmanuel (Σούλα Εμμανουήλ) was born in Dublin to an Irish mother and a Greek father, and grew up in the town of Greystones, on Ireland’s east coast. She studied at Trinity College Dublin and Lund University before coming out as trans and becoming a writer in her late twenties – two moves which have considerably reduced her lifetime expected earnings. She currently lives in Ireland with her dog, Heidi.

She took part in the Stinging Fly fiction summer school in 2021 and is a participant in the Madeleine Milburn Literary Agency’s mentorship programme for 2021-22. She is represented by Olivia Maidment.

She is on Twitter @soulaemmanuel and can be reached by email at hi@soulaemmanuel.com.
