Soula Emmanuel (Σούλα Εμμανουήλ) was born in Dublin to an Irish mother and a Greek father. She studied at universities in Ireland and Sweden, emerging with a master’s in demography which she likes to believe cemented her interest in human outliers. She is proudly an autistic trans writer. She currently lives on Ireland’s east coast.
She took part in the Stinging Fly fiction summer school in 2021 and was a participant in the Madeleine Milburn Literary Agency’s mentorship programme for 2021-22. She is represented by Olivia Maidment. In 2023, her debut novel Wild Geese will be published by Footnote Press in the UK and Ireland and the Feminist Press in the US and Canada.
